Daniel Sherman

Owner

BIO: Dan Sherman serves as Post 94 Baseball’s Director of Operations, as well as Executive Director for Baseball Ambassadors Inc. – Post 94’s funding partner. He has a youth sports and baseball background going back 50 years. Originally from South Haven, Michigan (where he played highschool football, basketball and baseball), Dan attended Central Michigan University for one year as an aspiring Division I Baseball player before transferring to Aquinas College (Grand Rapids, MI)
for a four-year college baseball career. Dan played at Aquinas during its heyday for legendary Coach Terry Bocian (NAIA and Michigan Hall-of-Fame), and compiled a 22-5 career pitching record for the Saints. Dan continued playing baseball for seven years following college in the Grand Rapids Super League – a top-level semi-pro baseball organization. In those seven years, Dan pitched against the best hitters in his career, including multiple college Division I, and future and former minor and major league players. Also in addition to baseball, Dan played one-year of college basketball at Aquinas and, in his young adult days, played in numerous amateur basketball leagues, tournaments and pick-up formats while living in Grand Rapids, Michigan, Notre Dame, Indiana and Chicago.
Professionally, Dan started his work career at Grand Rapids West Catholic High School and spent five years teaching social studies and coaching football, basketball and baseball. After earning an Educational Administration Master’s Degree from Michigan State University and a year of “soul searching”, Dan decided to change careers and enrolled at Notre Dame Law School. Although he has practiced law since earning his law degree and becoming licensed as an attorney, he has
continued coaching as a volunteer both in Illinois and Indiana -- including inter-city youth basketball in Chicago, and numerous youth organizations in Valparaiso. Upon moving with his wife, Meg, and four young children to Valparaiso in 2004, Dan continued coaching youth baseball, basketball and soccer while raising his family. This experience – as a “parent who remained active in coaching” – ultimately defines Dan’s youth sports outlook and overall philosophy, and provides an extremely valuable foundation for his leadership. That is, combined with his entire athletic playing career, including the baseball and basketball experiences described above (which included competing against athletes who played in the NBA, NFL and MLB) – and raising four children who all played sports (two at the college level) – Dan has a unique background to head Post 94 Baseball. Maybe most importantly, Dan is extremely dedicated to overseeing Post 94 Baseball as an “exemplary youth sports organization” – and emphasizing all the “right ideals” to guide young baseball players.

Ryan Troxel serves as Post 94’s General Manager as well as Media Director for Post 94’s Funding Partner, Baseball Ambassadors Inc. Ryan has been involved in baseball for all his life in a playing or coaching capacity. Originally from Valparaiso, IN, Ryan attended
Valparaiso HS and graduated in 2019 where he earned Team MVP status, All State Honorable Mention, Academic All State, and All Conference honors in 2019. He moved on to play 4 years of Collegiate Baseball from 2020-2023, 1 year at Saint Xavier University and 3 years at Indiana Institute of Technology where he earned WHAC All Conference and NAIA Scholar Athlete honors, amassing over 130 innings pitched and 13 career wins. He also played in the summers of 2022 and 2023 for the Lake County Corn Dogs, where he was a 2-time Northern League All-Legue selection and helped lead the team to a 2022 championship with a 0.90 ERA
and 5-0 record in 39.2 innings, striking out 51 hitters. He was also named 2022 Northern League Pitcher of the Year. Ryan’s family background includes his father, Jeff Troxel, who coached Ryan up to high school and his grandfather, Jerry Troxel, former Gary Wirt coach for 39 years, both of whose influence and inspiration led him naturally into coaching.
As of 2026, Ryan is in his 5 th  season working with Post 94. He served as the pitching coach for the Post 94 Juniors in 2022, assistant coach for Post 94 Seniors/College Prep from 2023-2024 and then took over as Head Coach of Post 94 College Prep and Media Director for Baseball Ambassadors in 2025. Ryan currently operates as General Manager, Media Director, and
Assistant Coach for the Post 94 College Prep team. Ryan began his high school coaching career in 2024 as the Junior Varsity Assistant under Clint Henry at Valparaiso High School, his alma mater, before accepting the Head Coaching position at Morgan Township, where he completed his 2 nd  year in 2026 as the State of Indiana’s youngest Head Coach – where his
team finished the year Ranked #2 amongst State Class 1A teams per PBR, the highest ranking in school history. In the offseason, when not coaching on the field for Post 94 or Morgan Township HS, Ryan founded Troxel Pitching Performance, a pitching training program that focuses on development for middle school, high school, and college pitchers into complete pitchers. In that program, he has worked with over 130 pitchers in 3 years, sending countless arms to the next level.
Professionally, Ryan began as an intern at Centier Bank in 2022 and upon his 2023 college graduation, began a full-time position in 2023 as a Business Banking Analyst. Ryan currently works as a Centier Bank Officer and Business Banker out of the Valparaiso, Chesterton, and Portage markets. He remains involved in the community as a Valpo and Porter County “lifer.” Ryan currently resides in Chesterton with his wife, Tracie, whom he married in 2023, and their young daughter, Vivian. Ryan’s experiences as a professional, baseball player, coach, and husband reinforce his values to not only improve baseball players on the field, but also improve them where it really matters -- off the field. Post 94 and Legion Baseball allow families to be together more, allow players to develop physically and showcase their talents, and provides an affordable, excellent baseball experience. Post 94 is also proud to have a
100% success rate for getting players that desire to go to the next level.
